Dear Asshole in the White Car,
Next time you hit someone's vehicle, it would be civilized and polite to LEAVE A NOTE! I don't appreciate finding a cracked and severely scraped bumper that is covered in white paint. The only consolations I have are that my car is already a piece of crap (and is now worth even less, thank you) and you also damaged your car, since so much paint transferred from yours to mine.

Rot in Hell, Jackass.

No Love,
The owner of the 1992 silver Volvo

The hit and run happened sometime either yesterday or today. I have a feeling it might have been when I was parked in the street by Ruth's house yesterday, but it could've been on base today, and that wouldn't surprise me either.

Anyway, I'm back from Schinnen with most of the things I wanted. I went upstairs to look at clothing (no idea why, as they usually carry stuff that's either for old ladies or whores..and then there's the maternity section), and I did find a cute top that would've been fun to wear on the ship...at the lounge or something. Didn't buy it though. I have other dressy tops I can bring. Still working on the wardrobe. Since we are traveling by train, then plane, then van, then ship...well, I just don't want too much luggage to schlepp around, you know?

I had to stop at the commissary because the shoppette didn't have the little purse-sized packets of Kleenex. While I was there, it occurred to me that we need something to eat for breakfast while we're traveling on Friday morning (we leave here by train at 3:16 AM and our plane leaves at 6:30 and arrives in Copenhagen around 8). I got a box of Pop Tarts. Not healthy, but what can you do? At least they were low fat. I picked up some individually wrapped packets of Wet Ones too...you never know. The cashier at the shoppette advised me to get them. He made it sound like the cruise was going to be some filthy, disease-riddled hell (he asked me where I was going when he saw all the travel-sized stuff I was buying). I'll carry them in my purse...I'm sure they'll come in handy somewhere.

Actually, they came in handy faster than I thought. I stopped at the vending machine to get a bottle of Coke Light, since I needed a caffeine boost. It was half frozen, so the bottle started to explode as soon as I opened it. I could sense it was going to happen, so I held it away from me, but I had to use a wet wipe to clean up the mess afterwards...it got on my car a little bit, but with the damage done to the bumper, who cares about a stupid soda stain?

I was actually thinking about relaxing during this trip (What DOES that mean?) and not doing my usual thing, which is sitting with my notebook each day and taking detailed notes on every aspect of the trip from the mundane to the amazing. But EVERYBODY I've talked to recently (and that Lance has talked to) wants to know everything about this cruise. And people keep telling me to "take lots of pictures" (Really? Do they even KNOW me?)...so, obviously my camera is getting packed, but the notepad will be getting packed as well. But there are already good, detailed websites about this particular ship and this particular itinerary, so I don't really feel like I need to work very hard.

I seriously despise those jerks who hit cars then pretend like nothing happened...I only hope the karma police come after them!

And when Lance came home and I told him what happened, he got mad at ME. I didn't report it to the police. Who do I report it to? I don't know if it happened on base or off.

Besides, the car is already a piece of junk, and they'll never find who did it anyway.

If it were a new car, it would be a different story.
