Saturday Stuff
Oct. 6th, 2007 01:28 pmToday is going to be another nice fall day. I should enjoy them now, because it won't be too much longer before it gets windy and nasty and rainy again.
We got back from Schinnen a short while ago. Lance is now mowing the lawn. I put some pork chops in the slow cooker with a can of cranberry sauce and a jar of cocktail sauce. Needed something easy today because I didn't have anything else thawed out, although I put some chicken in the fridge to thaw for chicken parmesan tomorrow.
I emptied the dishwasher and tidied up the kitchen...swept a bit on the outside, because the spider webs are just ridiculous. I want to spray all our shrubbery with Raid. Some spider was working on a web that spanned the width of our front porch, so I had to get rid of that before I met it face to face, which would be unpleasant for both of us (and probably more so for me, because of my abnormal terror of 8-legged creatures).
Lance and I added a few more houses to our list this morning. There is one in particular that seems really promising, although there were no photos to look at. And we would be inheriting grapevines and plum trees along with the property. I don't have plans to start making wine (Johnson Vineyards?), nor do I like plums. And the house has a greenhouse...another feature we could really do without. ETA: Pictures are up of this house now, and it's FABULOUS! Kitchen...OMG...*lust*. But it has a playhouse, which we would either rip out or convert into a deluxe doggie mansion...hehe. And of course, there are the grapevines, and the greenhouse. I would just give away the plums. We have to wonder why this house is so inexpensive (I mean, considering average prices in that area, anyway...it's certainly not inexpensive).
We'll keep looking, because we are finding some that have a lot of potential.
I will probably venture out for a walk later. Today, there are phone calls to make. I want to spend some time finishing up the book I'm reading (I would like to finish it tomorrow, if I can). And I suppose there will be more house hunting. But Lance would like us to gather up some things to get rid of at the Park and Sell next Saturday, so we should start doing that too. I have a box of books and a few kitchen electrics for starters.
