So I've spent my afternoon in the kitchen, pulling out all the stuff that can be packed up on Thursday. I've had my headphones on, listening to Celtic music.

Periodically, Lance comes up from the basement, and breaks out into a very horrible jig in the middle of the kitchen.

I can't stop laughing. I'm doubled over...laughing so hard that I'm snorting. And all that does is egg him on even more.

DAMMIT! I'M TRYING TO WORK!!

In other news, we found a really fantastic house today, and I am really excited about it. The kitchen is kind of small, but it's cute. The rest of the house is really great. The deck at the back of the house is a thing of wonder. It's GINORMOUS and has multiple levels and...well, it's just fabulous. And the yard is about half an acre and backs up partially into green space. Plenty of room for the dog(s) to run.

And the house is a very cheerful yellow, unlike many of the bland houses we've been seeing. Seattle is cloudy and rainy...why not have a sunny yellow house?

The price is just shy of our maximum...which doesn't thrill me. But if we love the house in person when we go to see it, that might not matter so much.

I'm really sad that you've stopped posting pictures of the houses you like. I really really loved looking at them. :(

Well, I can post some again...particularly as we narrow down our list. I stopped doing it because I have to go back later and delete it anyway, on account of the links no longer being valid once the house is removed from the market.

Here's the house I was talking about:

That house is beautiful. You're right about the kitchen being a little small, but it's certainly usable. The other rooms look really open and inviting and I love the way the sun plays on the walls. Too bad they're probably going to take their race car bed with them... I bet Lance would LOVE it. ;)

HAHAHA.

Right now, this is Lance's #1 house. I would say that it's in my top 5. There's a Craftsman in downtown Kent (built in the 1920's, I think) that I think is absolutely wonderful. Lance thinks it's a bit too small at 1100 square feet, but as I keep telling him, it's just two of us. How much space do two people need? And yeah, we'll have a dog, but as long as there's a yard...

Oh...I forgot to mention. Earlier we were looking at this one house, and I immediately busted out laughing and just couldn't stop. Lance was confused, because he couldn't see what was so funny. But I told him to look closely at the photo of the bathroom. At the very edge of the photo, you could see the reflection of some old lady in the mirror. It was freaking hilarious.

I actually think we put that house on our watch list. Let me see if I can dig it up.

ROFL. I don't know why I find this so hilarious...I guess because it's just random.

I see her, I see her! It is hilarious.

The cost of housing in Seattle is unreal! In Houston, those would be $120,000 homes and people would haggle them down to $110,000 or so... Our house was 2,335 sq. ft., 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bath, hardwood downstairs, new carpet upstairs, 2-car partially-finished garage all on an oversize corner lot with a gated driveway... And it was $119,000. I'm not saying they aren't lovely homes - they are definitely on-par with our home in Houston - but good heavens. That's expensive. Like I said, I'll live vicariously through you - as long as you foot the bill. Deal?

Believe me, a comparable house in OKC is about half the price of these. It makes me nauseous. Literally. I've been feeling quite sick all week as we get closer to this house hunting trip.

But Lance crunched the numbers and he says we can handle this, so I just have to trust him.
