This time of year always gets to me...I've been so tired today. And I feel like I got sufficient enough sleep last night. But it doesn't matter. I could sleep for 100 years and still feel tired.

Good to know that Seattle has half an hour more daylight this time of year than we have here...of course, you can subtract that half an hour in the summer, but the days here in summer are ridiculously long anyway.

So...I met up with Andrea today for lunch. We laughed about being purse twins, because she liked the purse I bought in Italy and got one for herself when she was there, only mine is dark brown and hers is dark gray (and believe me, if they had had that color when I was there, I would've gotten that...I prefer grays and blacks to browns).

YAY! I'm starting fashion trends! ;)

We had a tasty lunch at the little chinese place we always go to...had my usual sweet and sour chicken with lo mein noodles. Yumminess.

I picked up Lance from work at 4:30, and he pretended like he didn't get tickets to the Thanksgiving dinner at the chow hall. But after I started raising a small fuss about it (I called and left a message earlier to remind him), he pulled the tickets out of his wallet. So we're scheduled to eat at 5:15 on the 21st. Yeah...they have eating shifts...I'm not sure how much time we actually get to eat before the next group of people comes in. Anyway, I hear that their Thanksgiving dinner is good and I'm glad that I don't have to cobble together something out of our limited materials.

Meanwhile, another big family gathering is planned back in Ohio. *sigh* I miss our huge, crazy family Thanksgivings.

Oh...good news about my niece...she's no longer breach! So they're going to wait for her to come when she's good and ready, and the c-section has been cancelled.

Before I forget...Andrea is encouraging me to join Facebook. Who here is on it? I think I'm going to, but really, I don't need another online diversion. But I would also love to keep in touch with her after I leave, and to maybe find some old friends.

Since it seems that I will most likely be spending next week by my lonesome, I was persuaded by Andrea to go to the AWGK meeting on Monday. Last time I went was in September, and I pretty much told everyone then that I was leaving, so I really had no plans to go to another meeting, particularly since I knew I would be getting on with the process of moving in October and November. But it would appear that I can go next week. And they're doing a Thanksgiving dinner. And Lance won't be here anyway. So I might as well go and socialize and eat. And I plan to do that with IWC next week as well...Canadian night! And that will be the last for me. One more book club too, but that's not until the 20th.

I'm on Facebook.. I joined as soon as they opened it up to the public, since I couldn't get on with my community college (it was once college students & alumni only). Facebook has recently started letting all kinds of developers add mini-applications to add to your profile. Most of them irk the hell out of me, but I do play around with a few.

I've found more classmates through Myspace than Facebook, but it's a fun diversion that doesn't take up too much of my day. :) I spend far more time on LJ than anything else.

Well, I doubt I would ever get as addicted to Facebook as I am to LJ. But it might be fun...many of my book club friends are on it, so it would be a good way to stay in touch with everyone.

I will never join Myspace though...there is something about it that I just find really irritating. And I'm not specifically seeking out former classmates, but I'm not going to be upset about bumping into them online if it happens.

I don't blame you about Myspace. I joined that site quite a bit before it was purchased by Rupert Murdoch's minions, and there's people over there that I can't seem to keep touch with in any other way. Bands, too, for that matter.. I like being able to subscribe to their blogs to find out about new release information and the like. Otherwise, I don't do much with it.

It has been suggested to me that nobody will take me seriously as a writer unless I have a Myspace page. And to that I say...Jane Austen, Virginia Woolf, Shakespeare, etc. etc.

None of them were on Myspace, and they did just fine. :P

Not that I'm comparing myself to any of them, mind you. ;) But I just think the whole concept of having to have a Myspace in order to be somebody is ridiculous.

Oh yeah. On the flip side of that equation is the couple I posted about awhile back, the promotion machine duo that is now on The Amazing Race. They're up there with Tila Tequila, and other self-professed Myspace stars. :P

True...some people attain celebrity status via Myspace or whatever. I'm just not cool enough to achieve that kind of fame. :P

And there's that YouTube guy...Chris somebodyorother...the dude that made that video where he was crying about Britney Spears.

I'm on facebook, but I don't use it. The main purpose seems to be to accumulate as long a list of friends as possible. None of the community groups that I've looked at on there appeal to me.

I might join just to see what it's like...not sure whether I'll use it or not. But if it helps me stay in touch with my friends here, it will be worth it.

I mainly use e-mail to stay in touch :-/

Sadly, that's old-fashioned anymore. :P

Get this...sometimes I write letters. In pen and ink. Oh my God...I am hopelessly uncool.

I'm on Facebook, but I rarely use it. I prefer MySpace.
