Two weeks from today, our new life begins.
I dreamt last night of our new house...well, half waking, half sleeping dreams anyway. I got a cute idea for the guest bath, but we can't pull it off, because it would involve painting the bathroom cabinetry black, and if we did that, it would make the guest bath stick out like a sore thumb, since the cabinetry throughout the house is the same.
So we're making other plans for that.
First thing's first, and that's the kitchen/den area. Lance and I picked out a color of paint that we like. It's called "Mantis Green" and it's a light sage. I wanted one shade darker, but Lance wants it as pale as possible, and it is a nice color. It's Benjamin Moore, so we need to go see how much that will cost per gallon. I also showed him what kind of flooring I would like to get eventually for the kitchen, but we stumbled on a nice flooring for the bathrooms too.
Yeah, we spent the morning on homedepot.com. Although we're kind of mad, because they're having an incredible 3 day sale right now, and many many things we need for the house are at a deep discount, but of course, we can't buy them right now. It's frustrating.

Anyway, I slept horribly last night. My lungs are burning from allergies, and my inhaler is worthless (they no longer carry albuterol at the clinic, so this piss-poor excuse for an inhaler is all I can get right now...Xopenex or whatever it's called). I tried to take big gulps of air last night and couldn't. And it's hard to sleep when your breathing is ragged.
So I must wash everything that came in contact with cat hair yesterday.

It seems that we are spending Christmas in Washington now...too expensive to go to Minnesota. So we'll make the best of it. Our stuff should actually arrive in Washington before we do, so we can get the movers in on the 17th to bring our stuff, and then put up the Christmas decorations (aside - we can actually hang our stockings over the fireplace this year!). Not sure how much baking I'll be able to do, so I'm prepared to eat store-bought Christmas cookies this year. Or I can beg my mother to send a tin of fudge and cookies. We need as much time as we can get for removing wallpaper and painting, so regular Christmas activities this year will be curtailed.
The Tacoma Zoo (more accurately known as the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium) is going to be open Christmas night with their Zoolights display, so I think we'll be going to see that.
Anyway, I have to take a shower and scrub cat off me...as well as throw stuff in the washer. Best go and do that now.
