The kitchen is coming along. Wallpaper is completely removed. The upper part of the walls still need to be painted, but we'll be done with the lower part once the second coat is put on tomorrow (and I need to do touch-ups on some areas). I made a run to Target today for a MASSIVE shopping spree, partly because Lance took down the miniblinds in the kitchen window and didn't want to put them back up, so he asked me to get something else. I got balloon shades from the Shabby Chic line...not actually what I wanted, but the best possible option out of what was available. Now that they're hanging up, I don't like them and I'm taking them back.

Oh, and I was working for SIXTEEN hours today. But Paula kept me company via text message...we texted back and forth every few minutes for nearly 2 hours.

Our fridge dominates the kitchen

See what I mean? Huge.

The finished dining area (just needs a few touch-ups), although I think I'll be taking back these Shabby Chic balloon valances.

First coat of paint - second coat will be done tomorrow

the best angle to get almost the entire kitchen - upper part of walls will be painted this weekend

By the way, Lance hates the wall color. We nearly got into an argument about it this morning. He thinks it looks too much like military green.

I'd take back those balloons for sure. Another color would be nice. Or even shades maybe?

I want shades, but we had to get something up super quick and don't have all the tools yet to install blinds. After Thursday, we'll have everything we need to install proper window treatments.

These balloon shades do have sage green in them, but you can't really see it.

Hmm.. I think maybe the windows are too small for such poofy curtains. They sure do sound nice though! hehe.. Maybe vertical blinds? We have those on all the windows at our apartment, and they're pretty darn nice. Also, you can install them inside the window sill, if you've got deep enough sills. Its nice because they lay flush with the rest of the wall, so they're not too overpowering.

I love the green kitchen! Its so calming.

Oh, and that fridge is ginormous! I love it! Its as though its looking down at whoever is opening it, speaking in a loud booming Arnold Schwartzenegger-esque voice "Open me if you want to live!"

...Can you even open those drawers next to it? holycrap.

I had to move the fridge a bit to open the drawers, but yes, they do open.

Oh, and I hate vertical blinds, actually. We have them in two windows already in the house, and I'm getting rid of them as soon as possible. I know some people really like them, but I never have.

I love the color. Men usually don't care what wives do with decorating. I have vertical blinds in each room in this apartment. We can't change them. They want it to look uniform from the outside.
