I can't believe that I forgot to mention this in one of my posts last night, but I had a lot of things I was trying to write down.

We never tested out the gas fireplace before we moved in. I was itching to have a fire at Christmas, so Lance finally decided to check it out.

I was on the phone with my dad at the time.

Basically, I think he turned the gas on a bit too high. As soon as the lighter was lit, a huge ball of flame whooshed out of the fireplace toward his head.

I shrieked really loudly into the phone, and then when I realized Lance was okay, I started laughing hysterically.

He backed away in time. After the fireball disappeared, the fireplace had a nice fire going.

Then the house filled with the smell of gas. So we only had the fire going for about 2-3 minutes, then we had to turn off the gas and open all the windows.

So yeah...fireplace is in need of servicing, methinks.

Lance said that I should feel cheated that I didn't get to cash in on his life insurance on Christmas Day. :P

Oh...and we're expecting someone over now at any minute to put together our hutch, which the movers couldn't put back together again. Why is someone coming here at 7:30 in the morning? It's not even light out yet! But that is when he insisted on coming, and our lives have been run by this sort of thing lately.

Good news for him though - the furniture company is no longer in business. If he needs assistance getting it back together, good luck to him. (And the government should hopefully replace this piece of furniture for us.)

It's not a big deal...just the gas turned on too high. Only scary for about half a second. I was surprised that my plant didn't catch fire, because that was right by the fireplace.
