prosodic: (Heath RIP)

I'm not usually one for celebrity icons, but this one really spoke to me. I'm still stunned and incredibly saddened by Heath Ledger's death. When I found out, it was like someone punched me in the throat and knocked the wind out of me. I've followed his career since Roar (even though he slipped off my radar occasionally until he did The Patriot).

I bought People today and Entertainment Weekly. He's on the cover of both. They wasted no time...but I have to say that EW has the better article. They don't sensationalize or speculate on his death and/or rumors about his life the way that People did. And People printed that awful picture of the body bag...the footage that loops endlessly on the news. HAVE SOME RESPECT, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY! I am never buying that magazine again. I shudder every time I see that image.

I'm contemplating watching one of his movies tonight, but I honestly don't know if I can right now. Not even A Knight's Tale or Casanova. My heart is too heavy for something so light.

ETA: I watched A Knight's Tale after all. I forgot about all the references to death...oh god....*tear*

Anyway, moving on...

It snowed earlier, but I think it's going to be quite messy overnight. We had rain/snow mix that turned to snow and then back to rain. The streets were getting sloppy when I came back from shopping.

So shopping...yeah, that was pretty much my day. We went down to McChord. I got a slow cooker at AAFES (the only one I had was 7 quarts, I think...way too big. I got a 4 quart). Then we went to the commissary and did our grocery shopping.

Once we got home, I put away the groceries, started on laundry, and then headed out to Kohl's. I bought a new gray suit jacket and a new pair of black dress shoes. I'll wear the same black dress pants that I have for my other suit.

I really hope I get this job. My credit card balance is getting ridiculous. And let's not talk about the other bills...

Lance and I have been working on household chores/projects today and there is more to do tomorrow. But I'll have to go to bed super early tomorrow night, since I need to get up at the unholy hour of 2:30 AM to go to work.

I think I'll relax for the rest of this evening. Just as soon as I fold the clothes that are now in the dryer.
