Mar. 14th, 2008 12:01 pmGot the itch to start a writing project that has been in the planning stages for almost 5 years now.
Have the prologue and part of the first chapter done. The fun part will be going over old LJ and Blogger entries and taking all those trips down memory lane.
Since I am supposed to take at least 3 pages of writing to my writing group at the next meeting, I plan on bringing this. That is, if I can go. It all depends on whether or not I have a job at that point, and this meeting is 2 weeks away. A lot can happen in two weeks.
But anyway, it's started! YAY!
And I think my motivation is coming right now from a beautiful book I'm reading by Mimi Schwartz at the moment...about the tiny town of Benheim, Germany (where her Jewish father lived) and how they coped with anti-Semitism and the build-up to World War II. It's a wonderfully crafted book...so full of life and richness and humanity. Schwartz is a professor who specializes in classes on writing creative nonfiction. I plan to get the her book Writing True: The Art and Craft of Creative Nonfiction.
