Mar. 15th, 2008 02:55 pmFeeling a bit rough today, as I didn't sleep well last night and spent a good chunk of my morning/early afternoon on the phone.
But I got pretty much everything accomplished that I wanted to do today. It wasn't much.
I went to my hair salon/beauty supply store. They were having their anniversary celebration today, so everything in the store was 20% off, plus they had a lot of other specials besides. I wanted to get a little Easter gift for a friend (it's what we do...just exchange small, inexpensive things for pretty much every holiday) and I found a nice little beauty gift for her in there. And it was so cheap that I got one for myself. :)
Then I went to Target to see about cobbling together a different interview outfit for Monday's interview. They didn't have any career separates that I really felt were affordable at this time, so I think I am going to stick with my first instinct, which was to wear a black floral print skirt with my black jacket. I just needed an appropriate top to wear underneath my jacket and some black pantyhose. So I got those at Target, and an extra pair of hose for good measure.
Looked around the clothing section some more, and was tempted to get a few things. But I'll wait. *IF* I get a job offer on Monday, then I will buy clothes. Work clothes will come first, and then regular clothes. I just don't have many of either at the moment.
Got a few other things, including a couple more gifts to include in my friend's package, and then went to the cashier and left.
Decided to stop into the pet store just to see the animals. It was there that a cockatiel became oddly smitten with me. He didn't like me watching the lovebirds in the cage beneath him (one of them was being funny and hiding underneath the cage liner and playing peek a boo). He kept knocking his beak against the glass to get my attention, and when he did so, he started doing a little dance, bobbing up and down, flapping his wings, and kicking his feet. This repeated over and over again...anytime I looked away from him, he would knock his beak against the glass until I was looking at him and start his dance all over again.
It was so cute and hilarious. I had to text Lance right then and there and tell him about it. Had I $100 + extra for cage and food, I would've taken him home. He no doubt would've given me hours of entertainment, and he would keep me company while Lance is gone. I used to have birds, but I never had a cockatiel.
