The LJ Anti-Strike

I know there is supposed to be some sort of posting/commenting strike on LJ today, so I'm wondering if that's why my FL is a bit sparse this morning. Or perhaps it's because it's Good Friday. I don't know.

Whatever...I'm posting.

It's actually sunny here right now. Last night, we were having really heavy downpours and there was quite a bit of debris flying around the backyard. At one point, I thought we were having hail because I kept hearing stuff hitting the roof. But I think they were just twigs.

Anyway, I've been doing a lot of thinking last night about my future. It's definitely going into my private journal...not sure if I'll eventually post it here or not. I'm still gathering my thoughts. Considering that I'll be calling here shortly to accept a job offer, I've been giving this subject a lot of thought.

I'm feeling a bit better today. Didn't sleep very well last night. I am finding that I can't unless I take half a sleeping pill that I got from my doctor. Our neighborhood is so noisy in the mornings. This morning, I kept hearing the commuter train (which is about 3 miles down the hill, but the sound really carries) and some crow that kept squawking loudly in our backyard. Then, when those got quiet, I heard jets flying overhead (we're under the flight path for SeaTac, and the airport is pretty close by). It's always something.

I kind of miss the days when the most noise I heard in the mornings were pigeons cooing outside and the odd rooster crowing. And the horses whinnying to each other now and then. And church bells.

Been missing Germany a lot lately. It's just strange how my life has changed so much in such a short amount of time. I know I'll eventually find my groove here and things will fall into place. I'm slowly getting there.

Good luck with the job hunt. As you probably know, since it's been the experience of lots of people everywhere, it's going to be a bumpy ride.
