Heavens to Mergatroid...why is it so hard to find a chocolate chip cookie recipe that doesn't contain shortening?

I have everything but the shortening, and I want to make dessert for Ruby and I to have with our dinner tomorrow.

Anyway, I found these. So I guess I'll be trying this recipe tonight.

(ETA: I only have 6 oz. of chocolate...not enough for a normal batch of cookies, and this recipe calls for exactly the amount of chocolate I have.)

Because we're getting 0-4 inches of snow overnight, baby! So why not do some baking? Hehe.

The plan tomorrow is that we'll go to Waxen Art to make candles at around 1 pm. When we're done with that, we'll just hang out somewhere and do whatever until 5-ish. Then we'll order a pizza. Then we'll go to the dance show.

I don't have a bag of chocolate chips. I only had baking chocolate, and exactly enough to make the recipe that I found. I think I would need twice as much for Toll House cookies.

I believe you can sub butter for shortening, w/o changing the amount.

I didn't have enough chocolate chips for a normal recipe anyway. The recipe I found has exactly everything I already have, including exactly 6 oz. of semi-sweet chocolate.
