Feeling Domestic Today
Apr. 1st, 2008 11:43 amIt's not very often that I get in a cleaning frenzy, but I had one today. Cleaned the bathrooms, the kitchen, and dusted the ceiling fan in our bedroom. Holy mother of God, I have never seen so much dust in my life. I spread a towel out over the bed before I started dusting, and it's a damn good thing I did. The other ceiling fan was taken care of when we painted the ceiling...Lance dusted that one. So that should still be fairly clean.
And I also cooked dinner already, because I'm going to spinning class this afternoon and will probably want to eat pretty quickly after getting home from class. So I thought it a wise idea to plan ahead and make dinner so that it just needs to be reheated in the microwave when I get home.
I just prepared chicken according to a recipe on the side of my Hungry Jack mashed potato flakes box. Dip chicken breast in Italian dressing. Then dredge in potato flakes. Then cook on skillet in 2 TBSP. melted butter (I used one TBSP. olive oil, one TBSP. butter).
Not sure how it will taste, but it turned a very nice golden brown. So that's dinner tonight, with some orzo and peas.
Have a load of linens and cleaning rags in the wash.
Making a grocery list because I have a grocery run this weekend.
Also need to figure out what I'm bringing to Bunco on Friday night. Probably some of those chocolate chip bars I made on Thursday (which are in my freezer), but I also have a whole box of Wheat Thins and a container of cream cheese, so I should make some sort of dip.
On the suggestion of my friend Ruby, I signed up on the email list at Duke's Chowder House, because she said I would get one free entree for signing up, a free entree on my birthday, and occasional free drinks or appetizers. But my free entree for signing up has to be redeemed by 4 weeks from today. So I guess Lance and I have to go to Duke's for dinner at some point, or else let it expire. If nothing else, I'll get a free dinner on my birthday.
I guess I should fix myself some lunch.
Last night's hail still hasn't melted. It froze into one big sheet of ice overnight, and the backyard is still defrosting now.
