We picked up Reece today at around 10:30. We stayed at the foster home for awhile so everybody had a chance to say goodbye to her. I think there were a few tears shed, and I must admit to feeling somewhat guilty for taking her away from where she's been so happy.

But honestly, her adjustment here has gone so much better than we anticipated. Our first stop before coming home was to Petsmart. She was so good there, but she is especially attached to me, so we had a difficult time getting any shopping accomplished while Lance had her and I had the shopping cart. So we switched...I took her leash and Lance took the shopping cart, and we could finally get some shopping done. She sat when we commanded it and she was very good around other dogs and people. She was getting all kinds of attention and love at the store. :)

We were there for awhile though, and she started getting pretty restless. So I took her outside while Lance was at the cash register, and then when he went to the ID tag engraver. While we waited outside, more people came to pet her and talk to me. She was still really good the whole time. I just think she was really hot, because it got up to 90 degrees today. She slept in my arms on the way home from the store.

Once we got her home, she explored the house for a bit, then plopped down on the floor and took a nap. She follows me EVERYWHERE and refuses to let me out of her sight, so I know that leaving on Monday to go to work is going to be really traumatic. I'll probably cry more than she does. She hasn't quite taken the shine to Lance yet that he was hoping for, but since he's the one giving her treats, she'll warm up to him sooner or later. She's just a mommy's girl.

She's a bit bitey, which we need to work on. She already got ahold of both my arms today and chewed them up pretty well. Lance got mad and threatened to spank her, but I told him that it wouldn't do any good. I think it's a phase she'll outgrow and we can usually get her to stop biting me by giving her a rawhide bone.

Anyway, she's getting restless because I'm in the office and a doggie door is barring her access to me, so I'm going to end this now and we'll take her for a walk here shortly and see how she does. I'm just trying to get over the hiccups first. I have them pretty bad.

Oh, and here is a really good website for looking up more books. I like the suggestions it comes up with. I wouldn't buy the books there unless I couldn't find it on half.com though, but I'm a giant cheapskate.
