Jun. 1st, 2008 03:25 pmIt's going to be a busy summer for us. My older brother, his wife and her son/his stepson are coming to visit the last part of July, which is followed by my mom and Rob visiting in early September. And my dad might come out in August.
So we're in a rush now to get the guest room fixed up, to get bar stools for the breakfast bar (our dining table only seats 4) and to get some paint on the ceiling and walls in the living room. We have roughly 6-7 weeks to accomplish these things. Lance is about to leave again and time is of the essence.
Luckily, the guest room is a quick fix. Painting it wasn't even a requirement, but Lance insists we can get it done. I just want to punch up the room a bit with brightly colored pillows for the bed, an extra blanket to add a touch of color, art for the walls, and curtains. We also need to replace my old, beat-up desk with something more practical for the room. A small dresser, perhaps. It doesn't even have to be a new dresser. If I can find a decent one at Goodwill, that's good enough. I just think it's more practical to have some storage in the room.
I guess I know what I'm spending my birthday money on this year. I was going to start saving up for a new camera.
In other news, it's June, and the current temperature is 61 degrees. DOES. NOT. COMPUTE. We had enough days like this during European summers, and I'm sick of it. I long for warmth and sunshine.
