Last night didn't quite go as planned.

Lance's plane got in from MSP around 4:45. He texted me when they arrived, but I was still at work anyway, so I figured he would have his luggage in hand well before I even got there.

HAHAHA. What a stupid assumption.

I took a different way to the airport than usual...a MUCH BETTER way that was not the least bit congested with rush hour traffic. So I think I might have gotten there faster than I would have otherwise. Lance texted me while I was on my way to tell me that he was at baggage claim 8. I was still quite a ways from the airport. I told him to call me when he got his luggage.

I got to the airport finally and was surprised as I started pulling into hourly parking that he hadn't called yet. Finally, he told me there was a 20 minute delay on his luggage.

And 20 minutes turned into 45...

He didn't get his luggage until ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES after his flight landed. Is that not completely insane? And we have no idea if this was the airline's fault or the airport's. All they said on the loudspeaker was that there was an unspecified problem and the luggage would be delayed.

So much for us having a nice sit-down dinner before we had to go to Petsmart.

And generally, I only have to pay for about half an hour of parking. I ended up going over that this time.

Finally... with luggage in hand, we loaded up the car and headed to Petsmart. We were contemplating where to grab our fast food dinner, and then Lance remembered Zoopa. It's a buffet, it's close to Petsmart, and we could still do our sit-down dinner.

A few minutes later, we were piling plates with salad, pasta, soup and breadsticks, and eating dinner.

Good idea, in theory. But my stomach didn't agree, especially since I had been out to eat at lunch too, and had teriyaki chicken (which isn't particularly greasy, rich or spicy, so I don't know why my stomach was hurting). By the time we got to Petsmart, I was very very uncomfortable. But I had to suck it up and deal with it, as I always do. Me and my ridiculously sensitive digestive tract...

Once we finally got home, I just laid around, clutching my stomach and moaning mostly. I went to bed before midnight and fell into a deep sleep, only waking up when Lance and Munchy came to bed after 1.

Now I'm just being an insomniac...up because my brain won't shut off. I'm hoping to get back to bed here soon and get in a couple more hours sleep. It's going to be very uncomfortable today (Washington is under a heat advisory all weekend) and I need to sleep while it's still relatively cool in the house. And I have to try and get all my domestic stuff done while it's still comfortable to do so.

We're taking Reece to Marymoor Park today...like Disneyland for dogs. And thankfully there is a nice, cool lake.

I have a trashy love for Golden Corral. Every time I went there I was trying really hard not to overdo it. Lots of salad, a few bites from whatever else looked good and a small dessert and I still managed to be stuffed for the rest of the day.

Some people I saw there reminded me of the TLC commercial - the all-you-can-eat buffet is not a challenge!

I'm not a huge fan of buffet food, but Zoopa has pretty good food. I guess because it's all Italian. And their salad bar is amazing.
