Reece escaped from her crate today. Not sure when it happened, but when Lance came home at lunchtime, she greeted him at the door. He examined her crate and it looks like she jimmied the bottom latch and then squeezed out...she even brought her squeaky ball out with her.
The good news is, she didn't destroy anything.
The better news is, she didn't get into anything potentially harmful. She didn't chew on any cords and electrocute herself.
While we're not ready to let her hang out around the house while we're at work, at least we know that she won't necessarily tear things apart. She can be a total spaz sometimes, but when it comes right down to it, she's a very good dog.
Lance crated her again when he left for the afternoon and despite her best efforts, she didn't manage to escape. So I guess the fault lies with me...I even double checked that bottom latch this morning before I left, to make extra sure it was secure.

It's been a pretty nasty couple of days here. We've had sporadic downpours all day and it's generally been pretty dark and gloomy. I had a huge craving for soup at lunch, and luckily the coffee shop in the building next door had crab bisque today. So that was lunch, along with a veggie bowl and dip.
I'm signing up to be part of a group called "South Seattle Stompers," part of a Paychex-sponsored initiative to get everyone to walk 10,000 steps a day and eat 5 cups of fruits/veggies daily. That's all we really have to do, and they provide free pedometers. We are forming 2 teams and competing against each other. I figure it would do me some good. While I try to take a half hour walk most days during my lunch breaks, I've seriously slacked off with the exercise...lack of time being a pretty major issue for me. This will motivate me to get my butt back in gear.
My cholesterol is slowly creeping into unsafe territory (it's at 191 now...higher than it's ever been, and high cholesterol runs in my family) and I've had a lot of physiological issues that are stress-related, so this can only help, right?
