Lance and I are going out dishwasher shopping here in a bit. We had 3 options offered to us by the warranty company:

1> let them buy the cheapest piece of shit dishwasher available to have installed in our kitchen (they gave us the model number. Looked at it, and...blah).

2> Send us a check for $262.

3> Send us a Sears gift card for $275.

So we're going with option 3, buying ourselves a nice dishwasher, and using the gift card to replace our other old, piece of crap appliance - the over the range microwave. That should more than cover the cost of one...and I picked out one already that I really like.

So no free dishwasher, but a free microwave. Either way, I'll take it.

But we'll wait a few months on the microwave. That, like the dishwasher, is under warranty until December 14th. So if that breaks before then, we can get that fixed/replaced for free too.

Tomorrow, I am going with Lance to some college football shindig at his friend's house in Fremont. Fremont is a trendy area of Seattle. Lance is going down there next weekend for Oktoberfest as well. Tomorrow, we're just hanging out. The OSU-USC game will be on. I'm bringing Ro-Tel and Velveeta dip with tortilla chips - something I had in the pantry for my parents' visit, but was never eaten. Can't think of a better opportunity to use up all that stuff.

Of course, this will be later on in the afternoon...after most of the games are already over. We have our grocery shopping to do first. Poor Reece will be crated most of the day. I feel bad about that because she hates being crated and I want to spare her from it as much as possible.

Anyway, I have a very ranty, friends-locked post to write later. I'll get to that at some point. I'm just trying not to dwell on things that aggravate and enrage me. I would rather just try and relax.

Yeah, our neighbors (who have kids and go through a lot of dishes) got that model in black, and they're pretty happy with it. It's a good machine, really--I just prefer the stainless minimalist look, and the corresponding Bosch was over a thousand dollars--a little excessive for the house we're in.
