You can take the girl out of academia...
Jan. 18th, 2009 05:50 pmSince it doesn't look like a graduate degree is economically feasible anytime in our near future, I may compromise and look at a certificate program.
Both UW and Bellevue Community College offer certificate programs either in professional editing or technical writing/editing or some combination thereof. It's about $2000 through BCC for their certificate program, which is about 9 months long. I'm pretty sure Lance's education benefits will assist me with paying for this.
And after reading through some writing/editing listservs, it appears that a certification program like this would actually be quite useful.
All Lance needs to do is research what assistance, if any, I can get for this.
In other news, we may be going to the Tacoma Home & Garden Show in a couple of weeks. We're full of plans but need ideas. And I think it will be fun to go.
Did our grocery shopping today. Spent more than usual, but I got a huge rump roast that I'm going to make into Italian beef sandwiches, with the intention of freezing the leftovers. I want a well-stocked freezer again. And yeah, we might've paid more than usual for our groceries this time, but it should be cheaper later on because I'll already have meals in the freezer.
It was cold and foggy through this morning and early afternoon. Around 3 or so, the fog cleared and the sun was bright and blinding and it warmed up just enough to where it wasn't uncomfortable for me to take Reece on a walk. Also got some housecleaning done today too.
Now it's just time to hang out and relax.
