The Curse of Being Practical

My bonus is enough money to buy a new camera. A new camera is something I've been wanting for awhile, since my current digital camera was purchased nearly 4 years ago, and has seen better days.

A new camera isn't necessarily a luxury item for me. When I was freelance writing, I found it critical to my writing. The photography that I submitted with my writing was nearly as important as the writing itself. Back then, a camera would've been a business expense.

Now, it seems more frivolous, even though photography is something I take pretty seriously. I think I need the money in my savings account more.

I think the camera will have to wait for now.

What type of camera are you looking into? A point and shoot or a DSLR? I know they have some good deals on lower-end DSLR's these days. :)

DSLR. I love my Canon film camera, so I think I want to get a similar DSLR version. But those are the cameras that range around $800-$1000 or so. My bonus isn't quite THAT much. So I need to look at something a bit more reasonably priced that still works really well.

I'm doing my research.
