Ok. Pizza Hut's pasta is okay and all. I mean, Lance and I order it every once in awhile if it's been a long day and I don't feel like cooking. The bacon mac & cheese is pretty good.

But it DOES NOT taste like authentic Italian food.

Who do they think they're fooling with their new commercial? They actually went to Italy and had Italian people try their pasta and declare that it tastes like Mom's?

Bullshit.

Their new commercial kind of ticks me off. I mean, that's like taking Olive Garden to Italians and having them declare that it tastes like Grandma's cooking. NOT GONNA HAPPEN. Olive Garden is not authentic, and neither is Pizza Hut, for damn sure.

I mean, they serve their purpose, and they're good. But they are NOT authentic Italian.

My grandfather's last name was Gagliano. My great grandfather immigrated from Sicily. I ate well as a child. I have the family recipe for the meatballs. Oh. My. GOD. Those things are to die for. We would eat them cold right our of the sauce from the fridge. Who the hell need the pasta.

I don't have an Italian bone in my body...my heritage is German, Irish, English and Polish. Which means I should love lots of greasy meat and potato dishes.

But it's Italian that I love above any other cuisine. Italian and Greek, I should say. I had *the best* Italian in Germany (even better than what I ate in Italy), and it was all authentic.

That reminds me of the awful commercial for Wagner's American Pizza that we had here a few years ago. I never tasted it but it was so over the top and claiming to be just like REAL American pizza.

I guess they can get away with it because the majority of people will never go to Italy.

That's not as bad as the time I was in a cafe in Bastogne and the menu had "Hamburger Americain," which was a mound of raw ground beef with raw egg on top.

Nope...that is a completely European food. Nothing remotely American about it.
