Minnesota is playing Ohio State.

Lance is a Golden Gophers fan. I am, of course, a diehard Buckeye.

We are spanking the crap out of Minnesota.

*phone rings*

It's Mom.

"Put Lance on the phone. I have a message for him."

He gets on the phone.

She proceeds to play the Ohio State fight song.

I love my mother. :)

I went down to the farmers' market this morning because it's the final Saturday and the dip mix lady was going to be there. I promised my mom I would get her some packets of cheesy bacon dip. I made some when they were visiting and they loved it.

So I got those, and a packet of meatloaf seasoning. I think I'll make some meatballs with it.

And pumpkins have been harvested, so I picked up 4 small pumpkins - 2 white with orange stripes and 2 orange.

And I got a 5 lb. bag of Washington potatoes for $2. I thought about getting some late season tomatoes as well, but the lines at that produce stand were long.

So I came home with my finds and proceeded to decorate the fireplace mantel. I removed a few of the normal decorations, put the pumpkins on the mantel. I have orange lights and leaf garlands. It looks quite nice. I'll take pictures when it starts getting dark.

Of course, now we need to have someone come out and look at the fireplace so we can start using it. We don't want another incident like we had on Christmas day, when Lance almost blew himself up when he lit the fireplace.

We postponed our shopping trip to McChord for tomorrow. This afternoon, I have a date with Farlis to take the dogs for a walk. It's a gorgeous, early fall day. Low 60's and sunny.

I'm trying not to let anything get me down today. I'm just trying to enjoy the weather and the football game and a beautiful day during my favorite season.

This commercial is one of my favorites:

I have no idea why I find this so hilarious, but I laugh so hard every time I see it.

Reece and I met up with Farlis and her dog for a long walk this afternoon.

Today could not have been more gorgeous. As we were making our way back toward our cars, we had an absolutely stunning view of Mt. Rainier. I had to take a picture.

Dog is tired...I'm tired. I wore my pedometer today...as a test run. The Live Well, Eat Well challenge that we're doing at work doesn't start until tomorrow.

I was well over 12,000 steps when I took it off. My goal is to have at least 10,000 steps a day. But I'm not exactly sure how I'll accomplish that goal because I don't have the time to take an almost 2 hour walk everyday.

Anyway, my plan of attack for the challenge:

- park all the way in the back of the parking lot so I have to walk further to the building
- take the stairs instead of the elevator (I do this anyway)
- walk for half an hour on my lunch break (I do this a few times a week anyway)
- take Reece for walks as much as possible

Still working on how I'm going to manage 5 cups of fruit/veg a day. I'm a carboholic, so it'll be difficult for me to eat more veggies, particularly since the vast majority of them irritate my stomach. And I don't like the prepwork involved with most fruit, but I should suck it up and do it anyway.
