I have two turkey breasts taking up an entire shelf in my fridge. It's thawing time! (I almost dropped the heavy one on my foot, which would've been ironic, considering that I joked with Sigga that it's so busy at work today that I plan to be in the hospital...and I would've had to go to the ER if I had dropped it.)

And everything else in my fridge takes up all the other shelves.

I have no idea how I'll find the space for the side dishes I am making ahead tomorrow.

By the way, I was only going to cook one turkey breast, but a couple of co-workers told me I should make both. Just to be on the safe side. And if there are a lot of leftovers, they can always be frozen.

A friend at work gave me a recipe for cranberry sauce.

I just made some.

Holy crap. I think I'll be eating cranberry sauce until Christmas.

Note to self for future reference: make a HALF batch. Good grief.

Oh, and for those interested...it's really easy, so you don't have to serve that crap out of a can (the only thing that's good for is meatballs, when mixed with cocktail sauce).

Simple Cranberry Sauce

- 2 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- pumpkin pie spice or similar spices to taste
- orange peel to taste (optional...and this was something I added to the recipe)
- 4 cups cranberries

Boil water and sugar together on medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Add spices. Then add cranberries.

Cook until cranberries burst, stirring occasionally.

Cover and cool. Sauce will thicken as it cools.

If you're not feeding an army, halve this recipe. I still have about 2 cups of leftover cranberries, which I put in the freezer. So I may make a half batch around Christmas.

Did anyone catch that Peanuts special that came on after the Thanksgiving one? The one where they're all on the Mayflower and Charlie Brown is narrating the history of Thanksgiving?

What was that? Seriously? I've never seen it before in my life.

Kind of like the election special they showed after "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." Never saw that one either.

I didn't even bother to watch it.

I'm glad the networks brought back the Thanksgiving special, though. I think they stopped showing it for a really long time. I watched it last year on YouTube, but before that, it had been years since I'd seen it. It's not my favorite of the Peanuts specials, but it's nostalgic.

Now...if only I could teach MY dog to make toast and popcorn.
