If you remember, about a month and a half ago, I posted pictures of the outside of our new house. Those pictures are here:

Now, after a month spent unpacking, cleaning, and organizing, I feel that the inside of the house is mostly ready for photographing. So here are the pictures I took today. The office and guest room are not included here. Neither is the basement. I will photograph those at a later time.

There are A LOT of photos here, so I'm putting them behind the cut. Dial-up users, beware!

This is what you see when you enter the house and look to the right - the spiral staircase. I'm going to do something to that space underneath the staircase where that wreath is hanging. I'm going to change the wreaths every season. I want to get some nesting tables to put there and change out displays with the seasons as well.

Looking straight ahead from the entrance. To the left - the entrance to the kitchen. To the right, the half bath and there is also a hidden area for coats and shoes. By the way, I picked out the light and Lance installed it.

Looking to the left from the entrance - into the living room. I'm looking for a tapestry to cover up that ugly fuse box.

Our front door. The curtains were bought at IKEA and I hemmed them myself (not very well, but hey, I did it).

Let's go into the kitchen...

I am looking for a bistro table to put there by the window. This kitchen deserves a nice place for me to sit and clip coupons, go over recipes, or just pass the time while I'm waiting for something to cook.

My primary work space. Look at all the cabinets! There are more above the sink, oven, and dishwasher.

My oven is so cool! My kitchen rocks!

A quick look at where I do my laundry, which is off the kitchen.

You'll see there's a shower stall in there. We never plan to use it, so Lance used it to hook up our washing machine so it would have hot water. There is also a sink in there, which is just behind the doorway. The room is cramped because I also store cleaning supplies in there. Behind the door is a strip of nails and hooks where I hang my brooms and mops and ironing board.

Now...into the dining room...

Lance installed the ceiling fan. YAY! That ugly dark brown cabinet, by the way, is on loan from Schinnen. I needed it in the kitchen at the old house, but I don't need it here. But they won't come get it. So I'm stuck with it. Yuck. And eventually, we're going to get a new dining set.

Looking toward the kitchen.

And behind where this picture was taken is the living room area...

Now, let's go upstairs.

At the top of the steps, looking to the left. This is the door leading out to a small balcony.

Looking to the right, the hallway. The office is where the open door is, but it's still a mess. The bathroom is the closed door you see. The guest room is beyond that. You also can't see our bedroom door.

Our bedroom. Considerably smaller than our old one, but a small price to pay for a nicer house.

We just hung those Brugge prints above our bed yesterday. We bought them on our honeymoon.

Where that table is, I'm going to find some pretty fabric to drape across the wall. There are some really big ugly holes in the wall that were left by the previous tenants that I want to cover up.

Now, the master bath...

We still need curtains for the window. The glass is not frosted, obviously, and even though there is nothing behind our house, there is a walking trail and you never know who is back in the fields. I'm going to put up some cafe-style curtains, so at least half the window is covered. That will give us enough privacy.

It might look like our bathroom only has a tub, but there is a shower stall too (you can see just a bit of it on the left). You can't really see it very well in these photos.

YAY! So that's our house! Still a work in progress, but it's starting to really feel like home.

It is a big house. And so far, we really love living in it. Just a few minor problems, but what house is perfect?
